Mail art love from an Annarack

I received a gem in the post this week from Anna Searle, an Illustrator from Newcastle, I have been admiring her illustrations via her blog for a while, intricate geometric scapes in beautiful colours are right up my street. She has also just opened an Etsy shop selling vintage treasures which is definitely worth a visit.

It was the envelope that just kept giving, I felt like I’d found treasure, it contained mountains of  art and ephemera created and collected just for me;

A beautiful original drawing of a compass that I love and cant wait to frame

A delicate handmade paper box with geometric design that opens to reveal a teeny dragonfly; so precious

Some vintage Snow White stamps that are just adorable

A small handmade scroll reading my favorite word

A bag a textile goodies; SO many pretty ribbons, swatches, buttons and some paper cuttings of vintage adverts

These are my favorite buttons, I would like to make a piece of jewelry out of them.

(Thank You Anna for your peachy piece of mail joy, I hope you can be patient for my reply, as I’m taking a break from mail art for a month or two to organise my shop!)

  1. No worries me dear…..I look forward to your next reply. I’m so happy you love all your goodies. One of the scraps of fabric is from Liberty’s (its the piece of fabric lying on top of the others in your photo…its green with pink flowers). The bit on the box which is stretched out just needs gluing to the side of the box…Unless you like it that way of course. It’s just I did not have another box for packaging, but I will make sure to secure everything better next time. I really enjoy’d making this little package.
